Events PMES Attends

Each year, we organise our own events or participate in local community events and we invite you to join us as we celebrate our local environment and precious ecosystems.
Fingerling Festival - The Port Moody Ecological Society is proud to hold this event on the first Saturday of each May from 11am to 3pm – a wonderful family event that is fun for all ages.  Help release baby salmon into Noons Creek, meet some local animals up close, learn about our local ecosystems and what you can do to help protect it.
Treefest – held in September at the Riverview Hospital grounds, this free annual event celebrates the trees and gardens on the hospital site.  Events include walks, workshops, art exhibits and their famous blackberry tea.
Hyde Creek Watershed Society – celebrating the return of the salmon to their spawning grounds.
Hoy Creek – Salmon Come Home, a free event to celebrate the salmon.  Events include demonstrations, walks and visits to the hatchery.
Steveston Salmon Festival – every Canada Day carnival, festival, food and crafts and lots of fun.
False Creek Watershed Society – We honour the spirit of the salmon that used to live in the streams that flowed into False Creek. We invite all to participate. Bring props and masks. Whatever inspires you to remember a lost salmon stream.
