Water Quality Testing

Water quality testing is a key element of our hatchery operations and we invite you to join Jim Mattson, Lab Director, and the team each Saturday morning from 8.45am to 11am (sometimes later) as they travel to six of the creeks within the  Port Moody Arm of the Burrard Inlet then bring the samples back to the lab within the Noons Creek hatchery for testing.  The teams car pool so please be at the hatchery by 8.45am.

The Port Moody Ecological Society is proud to have been maintaining these important tests and records for over 20 years.  This information is invaluable for interpretation and understanding of our local waters and is used by local authorities.

We are in need of volunteers to do data entry for us.  Training provided.  If you are interested, please contact Jim directly.

Please contact Jim at portmoodyecologicalsociety@hotmail.com should you have any questions.

Our volunteers test six creeks in the Port Moody Arm of the Burrard Inlet:  Noons, Schoolhouse South, Schoolhouse North,  Slaughterhouse, and Mossom.
